The Diakon Protect the Vaults Now!
The Diakon took a little bit of extra work to make them ready for release, but it was well worth it. Visit the Patreon to find out what might lurk in the next Vault you discover!
Demiplane’s 5e NEXUS is Live!
Sorry for two headlines in a line ending with an exclamation mark, but I’m very excited for this. Demiplane.com is Adam Bradford’s latest go at a set of handy online reference/game tools, this time available for multiple systems. After the OGL kerfuffle, the site announced that a 5e Nexus (the site’s name for the system containers necessary so that your colonial marines don’t get mixed up with your waterbenders or thaumaturges ) was on its way, and it is now in Early Access. So far, there’s only the SRD and a handful of products from third party publishers there for digital reference only, with character creation rules promised next year. I know from personal experience that programming databases, filling them with useful info, and making a user-friendly interface is significant work. So I don’t expect Ashen Frontiers to make it onto the 5e Nexus very soon, but if they’re able to expose tools for publishers to add content, I’ll be there with a quickness.
The Broken World Update
Speaking of development taking time, I’m still working on the updates for the free setting guide, The Broken World. The three latest phrases under consideration are:
Entomon Stare. A look that seems cold and appraising to those Ancestries derived from Human stock.
A Traditional Bogie Funeral. Very inappropriate in many circumstances, this refers to common (but unsubstantiated rumours) of Bogies in the Rocklands having cannibalistic traditions.
Breaking Rocks. Pointless labour, from tales of how dissidents were punished by The Tyrant.
If you’ve got any feedback on these, or just want to contribute to the development, the Discord is always open, with #ashen-discussion probably the best (and most open) place to give feedback, or make suggestions.
Spooky Month is Coming!
One more exclamation mark before I leave you. Next month is October, and ends with my favourite holiday, Halloween. In honour of the occasion, I’m hoping to have the Vyrkolat ready for a release on Patreon. If that sounds interesting to you, share with folks the link (http://www.patreon.com/ashenfrontiers) so that I’m able to keep this project going (at this time, the number of patrons is well below where I wanted to end this year, and I’m all ears for any way to bump that number up).

It’s been an excellently busy time this last week, with even more to do this week. Until next time, stay awesome!
